Overcomning Fear....

Growing up I had so many fears. For one I stuttered. And, because of my stuttering I was afraid to speak or shall I say to embarrass to speak because of my handicap.

Yet, as I look back and in the midst of my stammering tongue, I accomplished a lot. I see where my fears, once I stepped forward made me stronger and bolder.

As an adult I looked at the life of Moses as mentioned in the Book of Exodus: This is where God gave Moses a command,, but Moses made an excuse to God because of his poor speaking ability.  Yet God encouraged Moses to go forth, but he wouldn't. Well, he wouldn't the way God initially told him to, because he had a fear. )He did not speak well)... But listen to what God told Moses below:

Exodus 4:10 (KJV)
And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?

 Exodus 4:12 (KJV)
Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.

And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.

Exodus 4:15 (KJV)
And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

Even though Moses was a powerful servant of God, yet in my own heart I felt that  he somehow was defeated because of his fears of inadequate speech. Yet I think the word defeated is to strong, but he did disobeyed God's initial directive to him.

Personally, when I spoke and taught I wanted to trust God with the tongue that he gave me. And no, I'm no way near the servant Moses was and Moses was so much more obedient than me.

But by the Grace of God:
  • I've spoken to small crowds
  • I've spoken to large crowds
  • I've spoken in Churches
  • I've taught classes
All in fear, but in The Strength of God ..... Fear can paralyze the mind and the will ... You can also find strength in fear. The will to persevere.

Lets examine: Fear enters when we think we can't be successful of what we are being ask to do or knowledge of what we should do. We refuse to see how very powerful we are. Stepping in the light  and not staying in the closet scares us the most.

Your not sharing your God given gifts and talents does not do you, your friends, your family and world justice.

There is nothing great about staying small and living in a closet. You and I were placed here to stand tall and shine bright!!! And this strength / boldness is in each of us.

LET NOTHING OR NO ONE STOP YOU  from REACHING YOUR God GIVEN POTENTIAL!!!

“Great minds have great purposes, others have wishes. Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortune; but great minds rise above them.”
- Washington Irving

So, let your Great mind rise above your fears!!!

Life.... As I See It!!!

Life As I See It

I was born and raised in a very small town in the state of South Carolina named Hartsville. I grew up in a 2 bedroom home. There resided My Mother - Father - Three Brothers and Two Sisters. We never once thought that our home was to small.

As a matter of fact I rather enjoyed our home and I felt it was a very nice place to live. As a child my imagination could reach the highest mountain. In the midst of problems I could hide myself within my mind.

I saw life , well heck ... I really don't recall giving life much thought. I just lived and dreamed.

I enjoyed my friends and I still reminisce on things of old. I now wonder how I truly survived certain things.

Even when in the 8th grade, when Gangrene had setup in my body, due to an acute case of appendicitis, I just focused on the pain. Not a thought of death. And yes, I could have died. However, it was at that time I began to see life a little different.

Each of us have  different views when it comes to life and each of us have different opinions as to how we should live it. This attitude has long been to opinion of mankind.

However, we do know that there is a way that seems right to a man, yet the end result can sometimes end in death based upon our decisions and attitudes.

Life as I understand is truly a gift from God. Yet we treat is as if it is expendable.  I'm also aware that life at anytime can become very difficult and Life at any time can become very easy.

Good or bad, there are seasons on life. It all depends upon, how you take on life and adjust to these seasons!

We've all ask ourselves this question when thing go wrong or have gone wrong:  Where did I go wrong? How did I get here?   Well, at least I've ask myself these questions!!!

Also in life:
We all go through rough times and disappointments, but realize that we’re all in the midst of creating our own story of triumph through the decisions we make and the actions we take every time life knocks us down. It’s in attempting to reach our dreams that we develop the necessary skills and mentality to overcome any roadblocks that lie ahead of us.

Don’t let a moment of defeat define your life’s outcome. No matter how many failures you’ve had, you still have it in you to create the greatest comeback story of your life.

Be prepared, because this could be tough, but by challenging and demanding more from yourself, you will make your life easier in the process. There aren’t a lot of things tougher to mentally handle than not reaching your dreams because you didn’t give it your all. The regret alone will be far more challenging to deal with than just going all out to begin with.

Every hit life throws at you can either strengthen your resolve or weaken your determination. If your dreams are important to you, then stand your ground and make it clear that you will not be denied. Make it clear to anyone that stands in your way that they better be prepared because you’re going to give it and them all that you have.

Until your last breath, you must fight. Fight for what you believe in. Fight for your dreams. Fight for the people you love. Fight because you refuse to let life’s challenges hold you down. Fight with everything you have because if you don’t, you’ll lose everything. You’ve got one life to make it happen. Backing down is simply not an option.

Remembering not to waste any of life's precious time. Know that there is something to be gathered out of each moment.

We are here for only a short time. We are only passing through. This is a true statement .. "Life has wings and the golden moments quickly passes by"

I would like to put a little pin here: Life is truly not difficult, it is a Joy. Often, when difficult times hit us, it is usually because:
  • We've failed to listen
  • We refused to trust
  • We choose to do things our own way
  • We fail to pray (Seek God's guidance). Read Jeremiah: Chapter 29:13
  • We followed the crowd
  • We were given wrong advice
  • Know one taught us
  •  ETC
Until you run out of time, there’s still an opportunity to write an epic ending.

Epic: A long series of events characterized by adventures or struggle.
http://shawntai.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/schoolomitclock2.jpgListen... there is a time limit on life: So, live wisely, make each moment count, because, if you don't it will surely pass you by and very fast!!!

A World of Possibilities!!!

We were conceived in our Mother's womb, pushed forth from her body, into a world,  crying at the top of our voice.

We did not have a clue as to where we were. All we could do, was to cling tight to the smell of our mother. Even though we did not know or understood the  word trust, yet we formed a bond of trust as we cling-ed very closed to the scent of her body.

As we grew, we also formed a sense of  knowledge and independence, thus stepping out into a world of possibilities. Which leads me into my subject, which is A world of possibilities.

Yes, we know that  most things in this world are difficult to acquire and achieve; they are also possible. Therefore, whenever you face difficulties, know that there are possibilities in all that you seek.

You must realize that All positive change in the world comes from our ideas of what we believe is possible.

People get what they want in life when they reach the point at which they can see themselves having what they seek.

Dream and imagine because Our imagination is the only limit to what we can hope to have in the future. The power of imagination makes us infinite.

Infinite: Exceedingly Great ... Not measurable.

Listen,  Margaret Drabble said ...“When nothing is sure, everything is possible.”

Therefore, Take control now. Forget about the negative thoughts which others have told you – that you are too old or too young. Stop letting the thoughts of others rule your life; stop being weak and cowardly, blaming your lack of progress on those negative programs. If you begin now and become a do-er, you will have earned your right to remain here.

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”
~T.S. Eliot~

Those who say it can’t be done are either the ones who have never tried or who have never succeeded.”
~Satish Thawani~

Remember, God has not given you a longing to do that which you have no ability to do.” God has equipped you with everything you need to Achieve and be Successful.

Now, it is up to you to go Look for the opportunities in the difficulties, not the difficulties in the opportunities.

Loneliness.....

Loneliness
Makes the winter’s night seem twice as long… Makes the summer sunlight much to strong
Nothing’s really wrong …. It’s only loneliness…

So stay awhile … We both have stories that are hungry to be told;
Your eyes are warm but I can feel your hands are cold…

Still they’re nice to hold
It only takes a simple yes
The time we spend leaves
That much less, for Loneliness…

Like a love song or an old cliche … Has it’s hideouts but it’s never far away…

Look around you’ve found it’s only loneliness…
So stay awhile, We’ve worn the night away and now it’s almost done … If you could stay a bit of breakfast might be fun…

It’s too much work for one
And though it’s just a
Simple guess…
We’re stronger now; we’ve made the best of, Loneliness…
Waits in silence while the shadows grow … Waits and wonders if it’s finally time to go…

The yes in our hello said no.
To
Loneliness…

This little abstract poem may seem strange or weird, but to me it makes lots of since!!!
&
Its amazing how you can be in the mist of a crowd of people and loneliness can find you!!!

The First Hello ...

The First hello can lead to something beautiful ....

However....

I believe love can sometimes be accompanied with fear. Therefore, if you are afraid of what love brings, then prepared yourself for beginnings and sometimes the endings of beautiful.

Rarely love is discovered between to people that  are alike. Usually it is between to people that are totally different. I guess it is true ... opposites attract!!!

But their passionate personalities bring them together that they learned to love and accept each other. Despite of their different personalities. And, yet love is still too good to be true.

There is always a chance, if you’ll take a chance you’ll win, but you must position yourself, if someone’s going to find you.

And, when you do ... You’ve got to let them in, because love usually begins with Hello or Hi.

The initial part is over … now the difficult part for many is letting go of their hearts …

One Hello or Hi is how it all starts; you might win it all or lose your heart.

Don’t allow fear to destroy what you feel. Just try and keep it simple and always try and keep it real.

And if being real means you’ll someday say goodbye … Then so be it.

Remember my friend… Goodbye is not the end … it’s a circle. And that circle will work its way back to you again should love fail you this time around.

Just remember Love begins with Hello or Hi.

So simple isn’t it…

Introspect...... What will I discover?

Introspect: To undertake a detailed mental examination of your own feelings, thoughts, and motives.

So, Open yourself with self introspection in Unfoldment of the Great Within. When you do this you will find numerous layers within yourself.

Unfoldment) -Transitive and intransitive verb to make something clear and understood by gradual exposure, or become clear and understood in this way

When you do an introspect of yourself you will realize the mystery and and the numerous latent talents, fears and strengths hidden within yourself. And, comprehending them could be very a tedious job in itself.

Latent) - Existing but not obvious and not developed.

Have you ever wondered why so many people shy away from doing a self-assessment? Doing inventory on their minds, and their hearts. Do you have an answer?

Have you ever stood in front of a mirror, nothing on the the birthday suit you were born in, and starred yourself straight in your eyes and ask yourself honest questions about yourself and answered those questions honestly, as you starred at yourself eye to eye.

have you ever ask God the questions?

  • Are you pleased with me?
  • are you grieved with me?
  • Please give me an honest report.

Have you ever ask yourself those same questions?

Sometimes being honest and taking a personal introspect of ones self can be very difficult. Could the reason be?

  • Many of us live a double life?
  • Many of us live the life of a lie?
  • Many of us have lived a lie for so long, until we believe the Lie that we live.
Could this be you? Remembering, the term you is inclusive, which means I am including myself in this subject.

You know, many of us have mental blocks of who we Truly-Really are.

And... Honesty is still the Best Policy!!!

Listen... Do you appreciate yourself?
Self-appreciation - consists of taking the best measures to adopt ethically and morally correct methods of living. It consists of utilizing the best kind of speech and correct thoughts, which might lead us to perform correct actions at the correct time.

Many individuals prefer to turn to counselors, psychologists and spiritual gurus when faced with internal conflicts and crisis in their lives. But the greatest counselor is among the most intrinsic parts of their self i.e. a person’s internal voice. Our internal voice is the brainchild of our conscience, which works independently from our mind, which are mostly engaged in worldly matters.

(Intrinsic) -  Relating to the essential qualities or features of something or someone.

(Internal Voice) - Existing, evident in, or arising from the nature, structure, or qualities that somebody or something has.

Now to understand your internal voice,  you must understand The Nature Of God!!!

(Conscience) - The sense of what is right and wrong that governs somebody's thoughts and actions, urging him or her to do right rather than wrong.

One of the greatest methods of self-introspection would be to assess our thought procedure. The way we believe plays a really essential role in shaping our personality and internal self.

God has indwelt man with the ability to reason, to be honest and more importantly to be honest with ones self.

Have you ask yourself these questions:

  • Who am I?
  • What is my purpose?
  • Why do I attract certain people?
  • Why are certain people are in my life?
  • Why do certain things always happen to me -- Over and over again?
  • Why am I different?
  • What is so special about me?
  • Am I a man of integrity?
  • Am I a woman of Integrity?

Remember fear paralyzes the mind and causes us to shy away from self-introspection. To me it is like this; If I'm traveling to a place I've never been, then it is important to take out the make, if I truly desire to get to place I'm trying to go.

In others words, you nor I will ever reach our true potential, if we are not honest with ourselves.  So today, join me in performing a Self-Introspect of yourself.

You maybe surprised as to what you may discover!!!

  • Why do you run?
  • Why do you hide?
  • Is it so hard to step into you?

These are my thoughts..... I welcome yours!!!!

There is so much we could say or add to this subject and I've not touched the surface. I would appreciate your feed-back!!!

Step Out...

Many of us live imaginary lives. We enjoy living in a world where we are comfortable and feel safe. We dislike disruptions and do our very best to avoid them. We look at the way others live and say to ourselves or to others, "I wish I could live like that (If what we see is a good life to have). We don't realize that to get somewhere requires effort, a different thought process and a desire. To settle for mediocrity is a direct insult to yourself and to those who rely on you and look to you for leadership.

Either way, many of us spend a lifetime wishing our lives were like someone else. We exist in a world with all the possibilities we can think of, to acquire a life-style we fathom in our minds,  Yet we venture only so far, desiring to stay in our comfort zone and fearing to go any farther.

Fathom: To understand something, usually something profound or mystifying.

Many of us never step off the curb of life, to experience new things. Many of us never step out of box that we live in. We remain in our own little comfortable worlds, thus causing ourselves to miss out on so much.

As we prepare ourselves to step out to experience something new; we must feel the Phoenix inside of us.

Phoenix: A supremely beautiful, rare, or unique person or thing.

Each of us march alone to a different beat. And as we slowly swallow down our fears, we make ourselves ready for the roads less traveled. From there we must suit up for battle. We must prepare for the things that we will encounter, as we prepare for something new. This is a test of our own cross to bare.

We were all put here on Earth for a reason. Therefore, it's never easy to be chosen and never easy to called. You must understand that when you are called or chosen it is like standing on the front-line, when the bombs starts to fall. You maybe able to see Heaven, but you will still hear the bombs and feel the heat of flames.

There are times when you know you need to do something new or different and you fear what others will think. The question to ask yourself  is "Who Am I Living for"?

Hope is in your eyes. Keep hope alive and in your hearts. You are a different being, therefore you must be different. Never allow yourself to be trapped in the clutter and shadow of others.

Dare to stand apart from the crowd.... Be willing to soar like The Eagle!!!

Challenge yourself to higher heights. Never settle for Status Quo (the condition or state of affairs that currently exists).

"Write down your goals and plans in pencil, not in ink and, then give God the eraser, to make the necessary changes best suited for your life" !!!

Lastly.... Whatever your challenges, fears or doubts; remember this:

"God has the answers to your problems even before they arise. Remember to lean on Him, in all that you do." .......>{Thanks Mitch for sending me this in an email, during a time of need.}

We all need strength to handle pressure, because there is always a price to pay for change!!!
