Growing up I had so many fears. For one I stuttered. And, because of my stuttering I was afraid to speak or shall I say to embarrass to speak because of my handicap.
Yet, as I look back and in the midst of my stammering tongue, I accomplished a lot. I see where my fears, once I stepped forward made me stronger and bolder.
As an adult I looked at the life of Moses as mentioned in the Book of Exodus: This is where God gave Moses a command,, but Moses made an excuse to God because of his poor speaking ability. Yet God encouraged Moses to go forth, but he wouldn't. Well, he wouldn't the way God initially told him to, because he had a fear. )He did not speak well)... But listen to what God told Moses below:
Exodus 4:10 (KJV)
And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am
not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy
servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made
man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the
blind? have not I the Lord?
Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against
Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he
can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when
he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
Exodus 4:15 (KJV)
And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words
in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will
teach you what ye shall do.
Even though Moses was a powerful servant of God, yet in my own heart I felt that he somehow was defeated because of his fears of inadequate speech. Yet I think the word defeated is to strong, but he did disobeyed God's initial directive to him.
Personally, when I spoke and taught I wanted to trust God with the tongue that he gave me. And no, I'm no way near the servant Moses was and Moses was so much more obedient than me.

But by the Grace of God:
- I've spoken to small crowds
- I've spoken to large crowds
- I've spoken in Churches
- I've taught classes
Lets examine: Fear enters when we think we can't be successful of what we are being ask to do or knowledge of what we should do. We refuse to see how very powerful we are. Stepping in the light and not staying in the closet scares us the most.
Your not sharing your God given gifts and talents does not do you, your friends, your family and world justice.
There is nothing great about staying small and living in a closet. You and I were placed here to stand tall and shine bright!!! And this strength / boldness is in each of us.
LET NOTHING OR NO ONE STOP YOU from REACHING YOUR God GIVEN POTENTIAL!!!
“Great minds have great purposes, others have wishes. Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortune; but great minds rise above them.”
- Washington Irving
So, let your Great mind rise above your fears!!!
These are my thoughts ... I welcome yours!!!
